Zespri - Can early sites be ready to harvest earlier?

3 October 2019

With the significant growth of Gold3 on the horizon, there’s a focus throughout the industry on how we can extend the packing window. Can growers get more fruit to mature earlier? Gisborne and Opotiki are  traditionally regions where some growers are ready to harvest in week 9. Can more of the fruit in these regions be ready to harvest this early? At this field day we’ll talk about what on-orchard tools you have for bringing fruit
growth and maturity forward. Guest: Abdul Jabbar from the Zespri  technical team.

Gisborne: Thursday 3 October 9:30-11:30am (coffee from 9am) at Harpers Gold Orchard, 110 Harper Road. zesprievents.co.nz/gisborne

Opotiki: Friday 4 October 9:30-11:30am (coffee from 9am) at Vincents Orchard, 385 Woodlands Road.  zesprievents.co.nz/opotiki
