Apata shines at Bay of Plenty Young Fruitgrower of the Year - AGAIN!
It is with great pleasure that we would like to advise the outcome of yesterday's Bay of Plenty Young Fruitgrower event.
It was won by our very own Chris Clement - Technical Operations Mends Lane. Chris competed in a range of events including more academic activities such as analysing budgets to practical tests of machinery operation. The quality of the competitors was extremely high but Chris won a number of events and took out the overall title. A fantastic result.
Showing that Apata is much more than a one trick pony Erin Atkinson - Technical Advisor Mends Lane also entered and was very successful as well, winning two categories and was third overall.
We are incredibly proud of both Chris and Erin and Apata is lucky to have such great ambassadors for our company. This is a tough competition any year and requires a lot of preparation. That they have been able to do so well while, like a lot of you, working some big hours to help us finish the harvest season says a lot about their commitment and work ethic.
Chris will represent the Bay of Plenty late in the year when he competes for the nation titles of NZ Young Fruit Grower and Young Grower of the Year.
