Pest Monitoring Agreement 2020

KIWIGREEN 2020-2021

As you may be aware, changes to the Kiwigreen monitoring programme to meet the protocols of the Chinese market means that monitoring is now a compulsory activity.

Along with this there are two extra pests that need to be added to the monitoring list which include Mealy Bug and Wheat bug.

Apata Group will be acting as a Pest Monitoring Centre (PMC) to provide this service to growers. We will automatically register you with us as your PMC. Attached is a contract which you will need to complete and send back to Apata by the 30th November. It is necessary for you to complete this even though you are registered so we can complete the monitoring process. If you do not require Apata Group to act as your PMC and provide your pest monitoring services, please be aware you must meet the china phytosanitary requirements to be monitored by a PMC of your choice. If you do not complete the contract, then we will assume that you have made other arrangements.

As a GAP requirement, monitoring must be carried out to ensure any sprays for leafroller or scale applied to crops after the start of the monitoring period are accompanied by a valid above-threshold result from a registered PMC. The monitoring period starts at a fixed point after fruit set regardless of when the first on-orchard monitor is carried out (table 1).
